Research Theme
  • Development of the Easy Bend-Forming for CFRTP,
  • Effect of permeability in the resin flow for the fiber base material

Explanation of the research

In the past decades, press-forming process of the CFRTP have been drawing intense research interest because of their products in automobile and industrial equipment. However, it is still a great challenge to cost-effectively fabricate CFRTP parts of large, long, and thick, such as infrastructure and general-purpose structure. Therefore, we have proposed the partial bend-forming of thick CFRTP laminates via partial heating. While the bend-forming has the potential for low-power heating and low-load pressing, this process always causes wrinkles in the bent area. The purpose of this reserch is development of new process applies the bend-forming.
